WHAT TO EXPECT
Every year, Gray Whales depart from Alaska to migrate south and along the west coast as they head to their desired destination of Baha California, Mexico to give birth. This migration takes place from December to April, and is the longest migration of any mammal! Join us to observe these majestic creatures that reach up to 45 ft. in length and can weigh up to 40 tons!
From May through November, Blue Whales and Fin Whales can be spotted in San Diego, and occasionally they can also be spotted throughout the summer and fall seasons. The Blue Whale is heavier than any other creature, and is the gentle giant of the sea! Generally, Blue Whales prefer the deep sea but can be spotted as they search for colder waters to feed. The Fin Whale is known for being large, fast, and unique-looking. They can grow up to 80-feet in length, and resident populations can be found in the Gulf of California and Mexico!
There is always plenty to see on a Whale Watching Tour in San Diego! Often, a variety of different species of dolphins and animals can be sighted. Passengers can encounter Risso dolphins, Bottlenose dolphins, Seals, Humpback whales, and more!
